Started the Technological – Industrial Development Zone – Tetovo Tetovo, 22.06.2010
In Tetovo today officially started the Technological Industrial Development Zone – Tetovo. On the official opening addresses held the President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Nikola Gruevski, the Vice President of the Government Mr. Vladimir Pesevski, the Minister of Economy Mr. Fatmir Besimi and the Director of the Directorate of TIDZ, Mr. Marjan Jovanov.
The location on which is planed this zone is on space of 95 hectares and is allocated east of Tetovo, that is, north-west of the village Sarakino. The selection of this location depended on the previously made analysis of the possibilities for space planning and the following selected factors: connection with the direction Skopje-Tetovo, that is, Corridor 8, the relative vicinity of the airport in Skopje and its structure and infrastructure; the possibility for connection of the infrastructure lines for supply with energy and telecommunications; possibility for connection of the system for supply with gas, as joint project for supply with gas of the city of Tetovo; possibility for construction of system for water supply through water supply wells; vicinity of the city of Tetovo; relative vicinity of the cities of Skopje and Gostivar; the clear environment; good microclimate conditions with intensive ventilation; possibility for phase construction towards west, that is, development of TIDZ Tetovo with accompanying activities that will increase the quality of work and living.
The Minister of Economy, Fatmir Besimi in his address emphasized: “The formation of this technological – industrial development zone in Tetovo presents important mean in the creation of pre-conditions for local economic development of the north-western (Polog) region. The cities that gravitate towards it will feel the effects from aspect of economic development, increase of employment, raising the living standards of the population, entry of new technologies and knowledge, exchange of experience, business cooperation. The zone creates possibilities also for public-private partnership of the state with the private sector as modern way of financing and which purpose is mobilization of the private capital that will enable increase of the investments and reduction of the expenses”.
Pursuant the Program of the Government, construction of 11 economic zones is planned, of which so far are constructed four, two in Skopje (Skopje 1 and Skopje 2) one in Stip and one in Tetovo, and until 2012 is expected the opening of the zones in Prilep, Gevgelija, Radovish, Struga, Strumica, Kriva Palanka and Kicevo. The world experiences show that this form of economic development zones secure stimulus and accelerate the development in the region, securing new experiences and knowledge, new qualifications and skills for the workers, access to new technology, better information, introduction to higher standards and many other accompanying effects that definitely do not remain only within the frames of the zone, but they are transferred on the other business subjects that are in the chain of suppliers and collaborates. |
