The Minister of Economy, Fatmir Besimi promoted the project “One-stop-shop system – phase 2”

The Minister of Economy, Mr. Fatmir Besimi today promoted the project “One-stop-shop system – phase 2” that is continuance of the project “One-stop-shop system – phase 1” that was implemented in 2006 and which enabled registration of companies and other legal persons at one stop.  The realization of this project presented beginning of new era in the business life in Macedonia contributing for the significant acceleration of the procedure for registration of companies.

With the implementation of OSS – Phase 2 that will also include the Agency of employment of the Republic of Macedonia, the Fund of health and the Fund of pension insurance, is expected to make significant improvement of the business environment in the Republic of Macedonia, raise the interest of the foreign investors for start of business in the country, as well as, increase of the efficiency of the public administration as service of the business community.

Minister Besimi emphasized that the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with the World Bank, through the BERIS Project, during the past few years worked hard on the establishment of crucial infrastructure projects directed towards improvement of the general business climate in the country: “The Central Register is one of the most dedicated institutional partners of the Ministry of Economy in the effort for improving the quality of the business environment and presents real service of the business community. The second phase of the “One-stop-shop system” presents one of the largest reform and infrastructure projects undertaken by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, and most sincerely I hope, that with the implementation of this project the Republic of Macedonia again will be ranked as one of the most reforming countries, pursuant the indicators of “Doing Business” of the World Bank”.

The project consists of three components such as: electronic submission of documents for registration of legal persons and connection with Agency for employment of RM, the Fund of health insurance and Fund of pension insurance, introduction of “black list” of subjects and electronic system for bankruptcy procedures and electronic system for registration of lien and leasing. The project, among the other, will enable registration of foreign trade company in the Republic of Macedonia, without physical presence in the country, it will enable enriching the palette of institutions that electronically exchange data in respect of the legal persons, introduction of internationally recognized standards for exchange of data on inter-institutional level, introduction of electronic submission and payment of services, increase of the degree of transparency of the bankruptcy procedures and the rates of return of the invested funds in legal persons, as well as, electronic connection with the Notary and increase of the efficiency in respect of granting funds based on Agreements for lien and leasing.
