Minister Besimi promoted the Study for the development of the tourism in the region of the mountain Shara Popova Sapka, 26.06.2010
The promotion of the Study for the development of the tourism in the region of the mountain Shara, as product of the ideas and fruitful discussion of the representatives of the Government, NGO, the private sector, local self-government and the diplomatic representatives in the state during the last year’s Conference “Dialogues on Shara” into organization of the Ministry of Economy, was held in the hotel “Slavija” on Popova Sapka. The Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Abdilakim Ademi opened the promotion and the Minister of Economy, Mr. Fatmir Besimi lead the discussion.
Own aspects for the Study gave the Minister of Environment and Space Planning, Mr. Nedzati Jakupi and the Member of the Parliament, Mr. Vulnet Ameti, the role of moderator took the State Advisor of tourism and catering, Mr. Sovket Hazari and presenters of the study and the action plan were Mr. Ljubomir Dimovski and Mr. Stefan Orozovik from “EPI Center International”, as well as, the Head of the sector of tourism and catering, Mr. Zoran Nikolovski.
The aim of the Study for the development of the tourism in the region of the mountain Shara is in period of 10 years, that is until 2020, to contribute in scientific, planned and systematized implementation of activities in the area of development of the tourism in the region that will help Popova Sapka restore the image of recognizable tourist attraction, desired regional tourist destination and modern tourism center with modern, quality and competitive tourism products on the European tourism market.
In the preparation of the Study were completely included all of the interested subjects that have interest for the development of the tourism in the mountain Shara region while the central role in this complex process had the Center for Development of the Polog mountain region and directly were included five municipalities of the mountain Shara region: Tetovo, Jegunovce, Tearce, Bogovinje and Vrapciste. Whereat, from each municipality were nominated representatives of the municipality, the NGO’s, tourism entities, mountain and sport societies, women organizations and youth organizations. It means the study resulted from the ideas and needs of those who need it and will feel at most the effects from the realization of the activities envisaged with it. They took participation in the discussion for this strategic document from which resulted also several findings and recommendations, such as:
Winter tourism: For realization of the activities and projects envisaged for development of the winter tourism in the Action plan of this Study is necessary inclusion of all interested sides (Government institutions, municipalities, tourism subjects, educational institutions, business community). At the same time, it is necessary to focus on certain types of tourism products that will be promoted and supported on regional and national level pursuant the national frame for support and promotion of the tourism. The recommendations are into direction of elimination of the barriers for successful realization of the envisaged projects, such as: Preparation of Detailed Urban Plan for Popova Sapka that will allocate solution for the non-approved buildings and will open possibility for widening for new hotel-catering and accompanying objects; Allocation of strategic investors with Public Call that will implement the experience in development and management of winter centers.
Development of protected areas: The abundance of wide range of flora and fauna in the region of the mountain Shara, classified on the international lists for protection of certain types, as well as, the existence of part of the untouched nature and unique landscapes, present base for protection of part of mountain Shara and their proclamation as protected area. However, this initiative so far, is not completely presented to the local population that on the announcement as National Park see as on prohibition of large part of the activities in the mountain and prohibition of doing agricultural/cattle activity. Pursuant the Study, the development of the protected areas according the several categories of protection of monument of the nature to national park is significant recommendation for development of the tourism in the region of the mountain Shara so it is recommended:
. Preparation of Study for valorization of the natural values of the region of the mountain Shara systemized pursuant the international classification will enable collection of all relevant data for the natural heritage of this region and dependant of the cause for danger on international and national level, which degree of protection should be envisaged, and . Organization of public discussion with all relevant factors in the region and with the local population, everything with purpose to clarify the effects from the proclamation of the National Park Mountain Shara and to allocate suitable solution acceptable for everybody.
Rural tourism: The rural tourism is identified as potential for development in all of the municipalities in the region and from aspect of the number of the villages on the mountain Shara with specific village architecture, cultural-historic monuments, specific traditions, souvenirs, traditional dishes, still high percent of young and capable of working population, existence of road and basic communal infrastructure. In the region there are large number of tourist paths for hiking, biking, mountaineering, as well as, mountain cottages, where significant renovation is necessary. Among the recommendations for development of the rural and all kinds of alternative tourism are imposed: . Mapping and construction of tourist paths; . Construction of mountain roads or their reconstruction is significant project for improvement of the tourism infrastructure to the tourism attractions in the region of the kind of the Lake Bogovinje, Black Lake and Beloviski Waterfalls. Other findings and recommendations: . Protection and upgrading of the environment through construction of regional disposal site and organized collection of waste; . Marketing and promotion of the tourism values and products, through creation of tourist internet presentation of the region; . Development of the human resources in the rural tourism through a package of trainings for the tourism workers; . Over border cooperation through investment in road infrastructure for improvement of the communication between the two sides. |
