"We are raising the Socio-Economic Council to a higher, strategic level, following the example of European practices, where social dialogue is key in policymaking," said Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi.
The last session opened up important issues that directly affect workers, employers and citizens, with the focus on specific measures and legal solutions.
The Minister indicated that the Annual Report on the work of the Council for 2025 was reviewed, with an emphasis on the results achieved and the need for further improvement of social dialogue.
Regarding youth policies, Durmishi emphasized that the Draft Law on Youth Allowance represents a significant measure to support young people, retain them in the country and encourage economic activity.
At the session were also discussed amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, especially in the area of ​​benefitted seniority, with the aim of ensuring a fairer and more sustainable system for workers in risky professions.
"With the Operational Employment Plan for 2026, we foresee around EUR40 million in direct support for self-employment, opening new jobs and training, which will contribute to reducing unemployment," Durmishi noted.
At the same time, the Minister opened a debate on the Draft Law on Protection from Smoking, and the report on the work of the Employment Agency was also reviewed.
