As part of his participation in the Economic Business Forum in Sarajevo, the Minister of Economy and Labor, Mr. Besar Durmishi, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Abdulaziz Alsakran, Deputy Governor for International Relations at the General Authority for Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (GAFT).
The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere and represented a significant step towards strengthening economic relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to increase trade, which currently stands at USD44 million, with the aim of exceeding this amount through new initiatives and strategic investments.
During the conversation, the following topics were discussed:
Organizing joint business forums and mutual visits of economic delegations;
Opportunities for Saudi investment in strategic sectors for economic development, such as agriculture, tourism, and sustainable infrastructure projects;
Development of the Kodra e Diellit Ski Center – Tetovo, as a key project for the development of mountain tourism and regional development;
Support for HALLAL certification of domestic products, as a concrete step to increase exports and diversify of target markets.
The Minister stressed that the economy of North Macedonia has significant potential, and with strategic partners like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, that potential can be transformed into concrete projects that will bring development, employment, and prosperity to the country.
