Risteski: Through open and honest social dialogue, we create sustainable and fair policies that are of interest to all parties

Deputy Minister of Economy and Labor, Marjan Risteski, participated in a panel discussion on the topic "Creating Labor Policies and Legal Framework", which was held as part of the conference "Labor Policies and Collective Agreements - Legal Framework, Implementation and Challenges".

- If we want to promote consensus building and democratic inclusion of the main stakeholders in the field of labor, we need structures and processes for social dialogue that have the potential to resolve important economic and social issues. This Government is a true partner in the tripartite dialogue with trade unions and employers and for the first time the Economic and Social Council has been raised to a higher strategic level. Our desire for cooperation is sincere and only through open and honest social dialogue can we create sustainable and fair policies that are of interest to all parties – said Deputy Minister Risteski.

At the panel discussion, Risteski also addressed the importance of collective agreements, stating that the large number of agreements in various branches and institutions that were signed in the public sector over the past two years are a direct consequence of collective bargaining with unions and through which the rights of employees have been significantly improved, providing more favorable conditions and higher salaries for them.

The conference "Labor Policies and Collective Agreements - Legal Framework, Implementation and Challenges" is organized by the Independent Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture of the Republic of Macedonia - SONK and is organized on the occasion of May 1 - International Labor Day.
