Baku, 25 September 2026
The Minister of Economy and Labour, Besar Durmishi, participated in the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026), in the panel titled "Rebuilding Trust in a Fragmented World: Azerbaijan as a Strategic Gateway Between Regions."
Durmishi emphasized that amidst global economic and geopolitical uncertainty, North Macedonia is building economic growth through investments, structural reforms, energy security, and the deepening of regional and European integration.
"In times of global uncertainty, we should not withdraw from the investment cycle. On the contrary, we need to continue investing in infrastructure, energy, digitalization, human capital, and production capacities," said Durmishi.
He highlighted to investors the country's geographic location on Corridors 8 and 10, its industrial zones, its developed automotive industry, and access to more than 650 million consumers through trade agreements.
"Do not view North Macedonia merely as a small domestic market. View it as a production, export, and regional platform," the Minister emphasized.
Durmishi emphasized that the Government's priority is attracting investments with higher added value that bring new technologies and knowledge, create better-paid jobs, and link domestic companies to global value chains.
Regarding economic trends, the Minister pointed out that the economy grew by 4.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026, which, as he emphasized, serves as a further signal of the resilience and potential of the Macedonian economy.
