The Minister of Economy and Labor, Besar Durmishi, held a bilateral meeting today at the Club of Deputies with the Minister of Labor of the State of Qatar, H.E. Dr. Ali bin Sameh Al Marri, who is on an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia, leading a high-ranking Government delegation.
During the meeting, the Ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of labor between the Ministry of Economy and Labor of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Labor of the State of Qatar, which establishes an institutional framework for further deepening bilateral cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of labor.
The Memorandum envisages cooperation in several areas of mutual interest, including exchange of experiences, study visits and good practices in the field of labor relations, labor inspection, occupational safety and health, as well as exchange of opinions and expertise in the improvement of labor legislation. The document also envisages the establishment of a Joint Committee that will coordinate the implementation of the agreed activities and work on the preparation of future cooperation programs.
At the bilateral meeting, the Ministers discussed opportunities for further enhancing economic and institutional cooperation between the two countries, the development of the labor market, the exchange of expertise, as well as strengthening the partnership in areas of mutual interest.
"The signing of this Memorandum represents a significant step in deepening relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the State of Qatar. Through institutional cooperation, exchange of knowledge and good practices, we will contribute to further advancing labor market policies, improving working conditions and strengthening the capacities of our institutions. I am convinced that this partnership will open new opportunities for cooperation and bring concrete benefits to both countries," said Minister Durmishi.
The visit of the Qatari delegation and the signing of the Memorandum confirm the joint commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations and develop a partnership based on mutual trust, cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of labor, in accordance with the legislation of both countries.
