Historic Collective Agreement – the salaries of administrative employees will increase by up to 40 percent

Historic Collective Agreement – the salaries of administrative employees will increase by up to 40 percent

The Ministry of Economy and Labor, led by Minister Besar Durmishi, together with the Trade Union of Administration, State Administration and Judiciary (SADU), represented by Blagoja Ralpovski, the Trade Union of Workers from Administration, Judicial Bodies and Citizens' Associations (UPOZ), represented by Trpe Desnoski, as well as the Independent Trade Union of the State Administration of Macedonia, represented by Goran Risteski, today concluded a Collective Agreement for employees in the Ministry.

The signatories assessed the agreement as historic, considering that it is the first Collective Agreement signed within this Ministry.

This agreement significantly improves the rights of employees, providing more favorable conditions than the current legal solutions and the applicable collective agreements in the public sector. The document includes new and expanded rights, with the aim of improving the status and working conditions.

The key novelty is the significant increase in the salaries of administrative employees, which will be implemented in three phases starting from March 2026 to March 2028.

Thus, the total increase will reach 40% in the next three years.

The salaries of employees who do not have the status of administrative workers will be regulated in accordance with the Law on Minimum Salary and the general regulations on labor relations.

Additionally, the Collective Agreement provides for a number of benefits for employees, including: allowances for night and shift work, work during holidays and overtime, jubilee awards, protection from harassment in the workplace, improved occupational safety and health measures, as well as clearer regulation of paid and unpaid absences.

By signing this Agreement, the Ministry of Economy and Labor and the social partners send a strong message of joint commitment to advancing workers' rights, strengthening social dialogue, and building a modern, efficient, and fair public administration.
