Minister Besar Durmishi participated in meetings in Washington as part of the Strategic Dialogue with the United States

The Ministry of Economy and Labor informs that within the framework of the Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of North Macedonia and the United States of America, a meeting dedicated to economy, trade, energy, digitalization and investments in the country was held in Washington D.C..

The session was attended by the Minister of Economy and Labor, Besar Durmishi, along with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozinovska, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, the Minister of Interior, Pance Toshkovski, the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, as well as the representative of the Prime Minister's Office Orhan Murtezani, the Director of NOMAGAS, Nedim Rama, and Ambassador Zoran Popov.

The American side was represented by Daniel J. Lawton, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western and Central Europe and Southern Europe, Jean Heulant from the US Department of Energy, Rebecca Neff from the Bureau of Economics, as well as Sarah Wells, the session's note-taker.

During the working lunch, the parties discussed the possibilities for deepening economic cooperation, improving trade relations and strengthening energy security. Special emphasis was placed on attracting investments, diversifying energy sources and addressing current global economic and energy challenges.

The meeting represents an important part of the Strategic Dialogue between the two countries and a confirmation of the joint commitment to advancing bilateral economic relations and sustainable economic development.

The Ministry of Economy and Labor remains committed to creating policies that will contribute to economic growth, stability and improvement of the living standards of the citizens.
