The Minister of Economy and Labor held a working meeting today with the Director, inspectors and employees of the State Market Inspectorate, in order to express gratitude for their dedication and role in consumer protection, but also to encourage them to be more active in the field.
"I am here not only as a Minister, but also as a person who believes in you – in your work, expertise and sincere dedication. You are the face of the state on the ground, with every inspection, with every report," the Minister emphasized.
The Ministry of Economy and Labor has taken over the authority over inspection services in order to strengthen their capacity and bring them back close to citizens, and the results are already visible.
"Your work was crucial in the successful implementation of measures against inflation and rising prices. We have shown that the state knows and can react when it is most needed," he added.
The Minister encouraged the inspectors to be even bolder and more active in the field, but also to demonstrate a higher level of professionalism and discipline.
"Regularity and presence are the foundation of every serious institution. I expect and believe that each of you can and will give more," said the Minister, emphasizing that inspection controls are not just a number, but a signal that the state is present - where ever the citizens may be subjected to misconduct.
He pointed out that the tragic event in Kocani is a reminder of how important timely and responsible action is, and called on inspectors to always be ready to react.
"We don't work for ourselves - we work for the citizens. And they always come first. Let's be part of the solution, wherever there are problems," the Minister said.
