Skopje, 02.04.2025
The Minister of Economy and Labor, Mr. Besar Durmishi, participated and addressed the conference "Reform of the Labor Law - Challenges and Directions", which was held on April 2, 2025 at the “Aleksandar Palace” Hotel - Skopje.
The conference brought together representatives of trade unions, employers, international organizations and experts in the field to discuss possible directions for reforming the labor law.
In his address, Minister Durmishi emphasized that the reform is not just a technical process, but a decision on the direction that the labor market in our country should take.
"We are not just deciding on the text of a law – but what we want the labor market to look like. An employment relationship is not just a contract – but a living relationship that brings security, dignity and progress," the Minister stressed.
He pointed out that modern challenges require a clear legal system – flexible for employers, fair for workers, and functional for the state.
“No reform is easy, but there is no success without courage, partnership and a shared vision. This is our joint opportunity to build a strong foundation for future generations,” said Durmishi. The conference represents a significant step towards a comprehensive process of labor law reform, with the aim of building a fair, modern and sustainable labor market.
