The Minister of Economy and Labor, Besar Durmishi, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of RNM, Arben Fetai, in charge of good governance and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Flakron Bexheti, visited the village of Glumovo in the Municipality of Saraj, where they inspected the factory for processing and production of meat products "Tiamo". During the visit, Minister Durmishi was informed by the company's management about the current work, plans for future investments, increased production and expansion of markets in the region. The factory “Tiamo”, founded in 1997, is one of the most popular local and national brands, recognized for its quality and long tradition.
The factory uses advanced technology that speeds up and facilitates the work process, increasing the quality of the products.
Minister Durmishi informed the management that for the support of micro, small and medium enterprises, the Ministry of Economy and Labor launched five public calls according to the Program for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness for 2024. A total of MKD80 million have been allocated from the Ministry's budget for these measures. One of the public calls includes reimbursing part of the costs for the certification of the HALAL system. For this measure, MKD2 million are provided, with co-financing of 40% of the proven costs, but no more than MKD200 thousand for each applicant. To this call all micro, small and medium enterprises from the processing industry that meet the set criteria can apply.
Also, Minister Durmishi pointed out that EUR250 million are planned for business support, credit lines provided by the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in cooperation with the Republic of Hungary. The Ministry of Finance is preparing the laws for this credit line and will determine the application conditions. Financial support will be provided through commercial banks or the Development Bank of North Macedonia, in order to create flexible conditions for lending to companies.
