The Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi, met today with the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia, HE Sophia Philippidou
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed the possibilities for deepening of the trade between the two countries.
Minister Durmishi informed the Ambassador about the new competences of the Ministry of Economy and Labor according to the reorganization of the institutions and emphasized that now more focus will be given to improving the business climate for domestic and foreign investors and improving the labor market.
Minister Durmishi said that according to the data, Greece is ranked in fifth place as the country with which North Macedonia has the largest trade exchange, and in just 10 years ending with 2023, the total investments from Greece in North Macedonia amount to EUR445 million, which means that Greece is one of our biggest investors and trading partners.
The Minister and the Ambassador agreed that increasing cooperation between the two neighboring countries, deepening good neighborly relations, will bring progress and stability to the entire region, and the citizens of both countries will benefit.
