Deputy Minister Risteski held a meeting today with representatives of the management of the renowned German company "LIDL", at which they discussed the new investments of the retail chain in our country.
The delegation from "LIDL" was composed of Milena Dragiska-Dencheva, Chief Executive Officer of "LIDL" - Bulgaria, Rubrijan Hadziev, Chief Operating Officer of "LIDL" for Macedonia, and Teodora Hadzi-Dimova Tanaskoska, Human Resources Director at "LIDL" - Macedonia.
At the meeting with Deputy Minister Risteski, they discussed the progress of work on the ground and the dynamics of the implementation of their expansion strategy, according to which it is planned to open markets of the world brand in all cities with sustainable demographic and economic power. Currently, in addition to the construction of markets on several locations across the country, the main investment of the German giant is the construction of a logistics center in the industrial zone in Kumanovo, which will serve as a supply center for the chain of markets.
In parallel with the construction, the company is in the process of establishing cooperation with a large number of Macedonian companies, and some of their products can already be found in LIDL stores in the countries of the region.
Risteski emphasized that the Government and the Ministry of Economy and Labor are partners of all investors and are available to overcome all issues and possible difficulties they may encounter during their activities. He expressed hope for the opening of the markets as soon as possible, which would allow the Macedonian market to have products with European standards and prices acceptable to our citizens, as well as for the greatest possible representation of domestic products in their markets in Macedonia and the region.
LIDL is Europe's largest food retail chain, currently present in 31 countries, with around 12.000 stores and employing more than 360.000 people.
