The teams of the State Market Inspectorate are starting today in the field controlling legal entities whether they comply with the provisions of the government decision that obliges traders to reduce the prices of school supplies by at least 10% in wholesale trade and 15% in retail trade, which will be valid from today, 15.08.2025, to 15.09.2025.
According to the provisions of the Decision, legal entities are obliged, in addition to the new reduced price of the products, to publish the old price that was valid on 01.06.2025, a price that is taken as the base and on which the reduction is determined. Then, in front of the entrance to the sales facility or in another prominent place, a poster with a format of at least A3 should be clearly and visibly displayed, which will contain the inscription "Less costs, more for you", as well as the inscription: DISCOUNT ON SCHOOL SUPPLIES, of at least 15%.
The teams of the State Market Inspectorate will control legal entities throughout the territory of the country in the coming period and will act in accordance with the Trade Law and the Law on Consumer Protection, where fines range from EUR800 to 10.000 depending on the size of the entity, and for complete non-compliance with the decision, a measure is provided - a temporary ban on conducting activities for 15 days.
