The Minister of Economy and Labour, Besar Durmishi, held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Nives Tiganj, at which the situation and prospects for promoting bilateral economic cooperation between the two friendly countries were discussed.
At the meeting was concluded that the excellent political relations and traditionally good bilateral ties create a strong foundation for further intensification of economic and business cooperation, especially in the context of European integration and regional connectivity.
Minister Durmishi highlighted the positive dynamics in foreign trade, with total trade between the two countries recording continuous growth, and exports from the Republic of North Macedonia to Croatia increasing significantly in recent years. The two interlocutors agreed that there is additional potential for deepening cooperation in key sectors such as the food industry, energy, pharmacy, construction, industrial production and tourism.
Special emphasis was placed on foreign direct investment, highlighting the growing trend of Croatian investments in North Macedonia, especially in the service sector, manufacturing industry and IT activities. The Minister emphasized that the Government remains committed to creating a favorable business climate and additional incentives to attract new investments and create quality jobs.
The two interlocutors confirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen economic diplomacy, organization of business forums, and support for the direct cooperation between Chambers of Commerce and companies from North Macedonia and Croatia, with the aim of fully utilizing the economic potential in the interest of the citizens of both countries.
