The Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi held a working meeting today with Mr. Armen Grigoryan, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program - UNDP in North Macedonia.
The subject of the meeting was the previous cooperation of the UNDP with the Ministry of Economy and the future cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Labor according to the reorganization of the Ministries.
Minister Durmishi expressed gratitude for the contribution that UNDP has made so far for the promotion of sustainable development in North Macedonia.
"With the reorganization of the Ministries, the Ministry of Economy and Labor has new responsibilities. The focus of work will be improving the business climate in the country, supporting domestic companies, supporting entrepreneurship, improving the conditions for foreign investors, as well as improving and developing the labor market as a new competence that we are undertaking. The support from various partners is of great importance for the current and future development of the state and private sector in North Macedonia," said Minister Durmishi.
The Minister emphasized that UNDP is important partner of the Ministry of Economy and Labor and expressed confidence that with the new competences that will be in focus, the already established cooperation will continue in the coming period through the preparation and implementation of priority projects that have a great positive impact on our economy and living conditions of citizens, dealing with the socio-economic challenges of our country and promoting sustainable development.
The Resident Representative of UNDP, Grigoryan, presented the activities and sectors that are the focus of their work.
Minister Durmishi emphasized that the Ministry of Economy and Labor will be dedicated to promoting further cooperation with UNDP in the area of economic growth and creation of new working positions as well as support for EU integration.
